How to Win?

In poker, there are two ways to win a hand:

Have the strongest card combination at the showdown (when all remaining players reveal their cards)

Make a bet that no one else calls, winning the pot without showing your cards

Getting Started

Forced Bets

Most poker games use forced bets called blinds. In Hold'em and Omaha, two players post the small blind and big blind at the start of each hand. These forced bets create an initial pot for players to compete for.

Betting Rounds

After the initial cards are dealt, players take turns clockwise around the table. Each player can choose one of the following actions:

Check

Pass the action to the next player without betting. Only possible if no one has bet in the current round.

Bet

Place the first wager in a betting round. Other players must call, raise, or fold.

Fold

Discard your cards and forfeit any claim to the pot.

Call

Match the current highest bet to stay in the hand.

Raise

Increase the bet amount. Other players must then call the new amount or fold.

Waiting

1.Pre-Flop

After receiving your hole cards, before any community cards are dealt.

2.Flop

After the first three community cards are dealt.

3.Turn

After the fourth community card is dealt.

4.River

After the fifth and final community card is dealt.

Each betting round continues until all players have either matched the current bet or folded. If everyone checks, the round ends and the next card is dealt.

Showdown

After the final betting round, remaining players reveal their cards. The player with the best five-card hand wins the pot.

If two or more players have hands of equal strength, the pot is split between them.

Betting Limits

Different game formats have different rules for bet sizing:

No Limit

Players can bet any amount up to all their chips at any time. The most popular format for Texas Hold'em.

Pot Limit

Maximum bet is the current size of the pot. Common in Omaha games.

Fixed Limit

Bets and raises are fixed amounts predetermined for each round.

Table Stakes & All-In

In all our games, you can only bet the chips you have at the table when the hand begins. You cannot add more chips during a hand.

All-In: If you don't have enough chips to call a bet, you can go "all-in" with your remaining chips. You'll only be eligible to win the portion of the pot you contributed to.

Side Pot: When multiple players go all-in, side pots are created. Each player can only win the pots they've contributed to.
